The natural park of La Batuecas and the Sierra de Francia, south of the province of Salamanca, is one of the subdivisions of the Central System. Due to its altitudinal gradient it presents different habitats, thus offering the visitor a wide range of species. At higher elevations, where dense scrub areas are dotted with rocks, the mountain goats will be the protagonists, although it is worth noting the presence of some species of summer birds, such as the red rocker, undoubtedly one of the most emblematic of the Sierra de Francia. There will also be other more frequent birds, such as the black vulture, the griffon vulture, the peregrine falcon, the crow or the red-billed chough. Later we will visit forest environments, such as pine forests, oak groves or riverside areas, with the aim of observing other species typical of these means, such as the papialbo mosquito net, the redstart or the blackbird, without forgetting other more frequent as the jay , the long-tailed rabilargo or the montesino scribe. During the route, it is probable the observation of other faunistic groups, among which the roe deer, the green-lizard or the lizard of the Batuecas, endemic to these mountainous regions. Summer species:Red rockhopper, gray wheatear, booted eagle, short-toed eagle, European beekeeper, warbler tomillera, warbler, flycatcher cerrojillo, mosquito net papialbo ...

Wintering species: Alpine accentor, reddish thrush, royal thrush, alpine sparrow (rare and irregular).
