RT.4.OBSERVATION OF AMPHIBIANS

OBSERVATION OF AMPHIBIANS

Amphibians are one of the most surprising faunal groups. His colorful designs and some of his evolutionary adaptations continue to be fascinating after decades of study. Its bare skin and its form of reproduction make its distribution very conditioned by the existence of water bodies and a high relative humidity of the environment, hence the best observation periods for these species coincide with the rainiest seasons, such as autumn or spring. Extremadura has a rich community of amphibians, being able to observe up to 16 species of the 31 that are present in Spain.

During our route, which will combine small trips by car and walking tours, we will visit some of its breeding areas present in the Monfragüe National Park or the Ambroz Valley, getting into the biology and ecology of the species that we observe during our visit , as well as some keys for identification or other curiosities. In addition to various species of amphibians, it is also possible to observe some species of reptiles linked to aquatic environments, such as the viperine snake, the cogulla or the terrapin.

We also offer you a personalized routes service, tailored to the needs of our customers to cover all your objectives. For more information, please contact us.
