The Jerte Valley, north of the province of Cáceres, is one of the most emblematic corners of its geography. Its steep relief and high rainfall give it very special environmental conditions, resulting in a unique landscape marked during the last decades by the cultivation of cherry. Its proximity to Plasencia and Madrid, lto good climatology of Extremadura and the coincidence some years of the floral explosion with the holy week, they have turned to the valley of the Jerte in one of the greater tourist attractions of the province. Despite how striking this visual spectacle is, it should be remembered that the cultivation of the cherry tree is itself a monoculture, which, as such, has led to an unquantified loss of fauna diversity. In spite of everything, the attractiveness that the simultaneous flowering of tens of thousands of cherry trees generates is undeniable, which generally takes place from the end of March to the middle of April.

During this activity, focused on the contemplation and interpretation of the landscape of the Jerte Valley, we will visit some of the best areas for observation through some of its villages, which largely preserve their traditional architecture. During our tour we will visit one of its most famous waterfalls, several of its most unique viewpoints and we will know some of its bird species, such as the oriole, the European beekeeper, the blue climber or the Iberian blue-winged ibis, among many others. The Valle del Jerte also has numerous qualified swimming areas, a rich gastronomy and a wide tourist offer, so visits are offered throughout the year, with routes that vary according to the time, designed specifically for each season.
